Message from the President of Razi University Condemning the Assassination of Syrian Scientists

In the Name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful

The Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) said: “The best of people are those who dedicate themselves to the path of Allah, striving against His enemies and seeking martyrdom in His cause.”

Amidst the chaos and turmoil in various regions of Syria, we witness the heinous crimes committed by the usurping Israeli regime and its accomplices in assassinating the country's scientists. The imperialist and Zionist elements, whose hands are deeply stained with the innocent blood of Gaza, have carried out these despicable and blind acts of targeting Syrian scientists.

Regrettably, in recent days, the assassination of Dr. Zohreh Al-Homsi, a distinguished microbiology scientist; Dr. Hamdi Ismail Nadi, an organic chemist; and Dr. Shadia Rifai Al-Habbal, a prominent physicist and astrophysicist, who were among the scientific luminaries of Syria, has shocked and stunned the global scientific community.

We strongly condemn these barbaric actions, which are carried out by the usurping Zionist regime.

Razi University calls on the international community, particularly universities worldwide, to denounce the assassination of Syrian scientists and to take urgent action to identify and punish those who ordered and carried out these heinous and unforgettable crimes. Such reprehensible acts must not be allowed to become a normalized or ordinary practice in the world.
