Biography

ِDr. Naser Karimi holds a Bachelor’s degree in General Biology from the University of Tabriz and a Master’s degree in Plant Physiology from the University of Isfahan. He completed his Ph.D. in Plant Physiology at the University of Isfahan in 2009. In October 2009, he began his formal academic career with the Department of Biology at Razi University, where he currently serves as a Professor in the Faculty of Basic Sciences.

Throughout his tenure, Dr. Karimi has taught a variety of undergraduate courses, including Plant Physiology, Plant Developmental Biology, Plant Ecology, Medicinal Plants, Plant Propagation, and Stress Physiology. His postgraduate teaching portfolio is extensive: at the Master’s level, he instructs Absorption and Translocation, Plant Metabolism, Comparative Cytology and Histology, Mineral Nutrition, and Physiology of Metallophytes. At the doctoral level, his courses include Advanced Plant Metabolism, Physiology of Absorption, Physiology of Symbiosis, Phytoremediation, and Secondary Metabolites.

Given his expertise and interest in Plant Nanobiotechnology, Dr. Karimi has been a member of the Razi University Nanobiotechnology Group since 2013, where he teaches “Modern Technologies in Plant Nanobiotechnology” and has supervised several Ph.D. students in this field. His primary research interests include plant strategies and mechanisms in response to heavy metals, phytoremediation, plant nanobiotechnology, and secondary metabolites of medicinal plants.
